JAKARTA - 'The Village Boy' film which directed by multi-talented director, Damien Dematra won the award again. California Film Awards which headquartered in California, United States (US) awarded the Gold Award in Best Foreign Film category for this film.
California Film Awards itself is a film festival that focuses seeking quality films from around the world such as Europe, US and Asia Pacific.
"With receipt of the award for this film, indicates film which inspirational work of filmmakers in the country demand up in the world," said director and producer The Village Boy', Damien Dematra in Jakarta, Tuesday (31/1).
108 minutes duration movie tells the story of early life leaders of Muhammadiyah, Syafii who has served as President of the World Conference on Religion for Peace (WCRP), which is also the founder of the Maarif Institute.
The film starts from the birth of a hometown boy, the son of Ma'rifah Rauf, a highly respected in the Sumpur Kudus Nagari, West Sumatra in the 1930s. The life of the boy spinning on understated and excitement about learning, pitted chickens and cattle, fishing, mowing grass, and shoot, until death and revolutionary war tore his life.
He was forced to change, confronted his choice selection of sake. He had to take one as a life decision turned out to change the course of his life forever.
Earlier, 'The Village Boy' film has won dozens of international awards such as the Best Family of Canada International Film Festival in 2015. In addition, the title of best film and best director from various event film festival in US, Europe and Asia have been obtained by movie which starring by Radhit Syam (alm.), Ayu Azhari, Pong Hardjatmo, Lucky Moniaga, Ingrid Wijanarko and Virda Anggraini.
