JAKARTA - A former Indonesian civil servant, Utomo Triyono Abdul Bakti who was recently deported from Turkey suddenly appeared in public. He is former officials of the Ministry of Finance (MoF). Triyono repatriated to the country with his wife and three children on January 25, 2017.

Head of the Fiscal Policy Office (BKF) Ministry of Finance, Suahasil Nazara said Triyono is once worked as a BKF clerk. He said, since February 2016, Triyono decided to resign.

"He was already resigned since 2016. It was officially submitted his resignation in February 2016," said Suahazil in Ministry of Finance office, Jakarta, Friday (27/1).

Triyono a Bachelor of Applied Science and Accounting at the College of Accountancy (STAN) in 2004. He also recorded holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Flinders University of South Australia since 2009.

His career in the Ministry of Finance is fairly good. He was previously an economist in the field of Public Policy at the Center for State Revenue Policy, Fiscal Policy Office, Ministry of Finance. Previously, he also worked at the Directorate General of State Receivables and Auction (DJPLN), Ministry of Finance.

Suahasil asserted, the case of former his men will not interfere with the institution.

"Not interfere, because him already not the Ministry of Finance," he said.

Revealed, if Triyono sold all of his family’s possessions to finance their joining the Islamic State (ISIS) group in Syria.

National Police spokesman, Sr. Comr. Martinus Sitompul said on Friday, that Triyono was lured to join the extremist group because he and his family wanted to live in a sharia-based state. The family planned to go to Syria via Turkey.

“They kept moving from one place to another in Turkey before being arrested together with 20 other people on Jan. 16,” Martinus said.

As known, Turkish authorities deported Triyono, his wife and their three children, aged 13, 8 and 6. They arrived at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali on Tuesday evening and were immediately taken into custody by the Bali Police. Densus 88 counterterrorism squad will further investigate the family upon their arrival in Jakarta, reported.

The five North Jakarta residents reportedly departed from Indonesia in mid-August for Thailand, where they contacted a person by the name of Abu Yazid before continuing their journey to Turkey.
