JAKARTA - Band which popular in 80-90s era now appearing in a new album. With the name of Krakatau Reunion, 11 tracks named 'Chapter One' has a more jazzy musical colors, ready to be presented in the music lovers hearing room.
Through process of workshop tracks in Bali, recording at Jakarta, mixing in Bali and and mastering ini New York, this reunion album the instructors and music director (MD) marketed in the pattern of direct selling, online and digital messages.
The reappearance of Trie Utami, Dwiki Dharmawan, Pra Budi Dharma, Donny Suhendra, Gilang Ramadhan and Indra Lesmana at least as an attempt to 'awaken' back in their heyday in the 80-90s era. Will they now seeking the return of glory?
"Currently there is no longer a background of past glory. Playing music is life, we do not want to attach themselves to its former glory," said Trie Utami in DSS studies, recently.
While Indra Lesmana see if in terms of color and music, Krakatau should be more careful and do not want to think too much about the present.
"In terms of musical color, I think should be careful and evade. Not think this too contemporary or not. We are all equally active musician, so the musical process that actually expensive," said Indra, who lives in Bali now.
"Krakatau Reunion must have a choice, must have something different, because we've had 17 years not releasing new recordings or over 25 years old do not play together," added Gilang Ramadhan.
To note, 'Chapter One' has the feel and characteristics of the fusion band Krakatau as in 'Aku, Kamu, Kita' highly viscous pop fusion, and most comfortable performed by Trie Utami. "'Aku, Kamu, Kita' about our desire to reunite, play together and recording again, meet with fans who nicknamed Krakatau Family and greeted back through the stage. This song are among the most poppy in Chapter One," said Gilang Ramadhan.
On the second track 'Cermin Hati', Indra has a basic melody, which is built like a musician invite the listener to enjoy scales, a unique melodic structure, with Trie Utami make the lyrics. 'Hanya Dapat Melihat' also track interesting, because Krakatau Reunion rather play in the pop, while the only song instrumantal, 'Moon Stone', the entire capacity of personnel Krakatau Reunion with background instrumentalist true, showed a class as a musician, but still maintaining a beautiful harmony as a jazz band. 'Moon Stone' is a song longest duration, 4 minutes 56 seconds.
"In my opinion, Moon Stone is proof maturing musically Krakatau personnel whose background is instrumentalists. Dwiki and Indra, for example, already knows where the part played in and what kind of emotions. Moon Stone may be written Indra time our workshop in Batu Bulan, to see the title," said Trie Utami.
Gilang Ramadhan wrote among others the song 'Family', not just talk about narrow brotherhood at one family, but also the world family.
In this album there are also three songs with English lyrics namely 'Family', 'Let My Heart Free' and 'Lingers on My Mind' and an instrumental track.
Krakatau Reunion itself comes directly greet fans in Jakarta, on December 3 yesterday and will be back in the show on January 6 in Malang and January 7, 2017 in Surabaya.
