LGBT Short Movie be The Best at 2016 Toto's Film Festival

BANDUNG - Strength of short movie in ideas and concepts. And these ideas sometimes contact with controversial things.
As happened in 2016 Toto's Film Festival which held on Sunday (13/11) in Bandung. Short film titled Clara, by director Jason Christian from Canisius High School, Jakarta which brought LGBT issues as the theme of the story has been named for the Best Film.
"The film was made as a form of concern for LGBT issues. We look inappropriately refused and alienate people who are considered different because of their LGBT," Jason said after accepting the award.
Raising LGBT issues in Indonesia as a theme of the movie is likely to invite controversy. However, senior filmmaker who is currently the Vice Governor of West Java, Deddy Mizwar see if it was still limited to a short film that was circulating in the public space, a theme as it is legitimate.
"The important thing is not circulated in the public space. Not applicable sensor here," said Deddy were present at 2016 Toto's Film Festival awards night.
Deddy also asked young filmmakers who are still in high school to continue make a good movie.
"How? Make a movie continuously. Don't just say you want to make but without practice. For sensor, I entrust to you. You're the one who censors own movie would you make," said this Nagabonar actor.
Awards night of 2016 Toto's Film Festival itself was a cover series of Toto's Film Making Class. Three three categories: Best Story Idea, Favorite Movie and Best Film in 2016 Toto's Film Festival.
The Best Idea for Story category achieved a short film titled Poin, work by Pangudi Luhur high school, Yogyakarta. Directed by Citra Marcellinus, this film tells story of a high school student who tried to clean themselves from punishment in the form of a points deduction in the school.
For Favorite Film category, film titled Covetous by Labschool UPI high school, Bandung whic directed by Muhammad Arya Rakha get the award as favorite film. This movie themed about love triangle which packed with interesting graphic effects.
And as mentioned above, in the last category, Clara, film work by Canisius high school, Jakarta with director Jason Christian to be the best film.
