JAKARTA - Who said if the residents of flats could not perform? That negative stigma can be broken now. Through Jakarta Rusun Festival (JRF) in 2016, a number of talent and potential in sports, arts, and culture of flat children created.
"There are so many hidden talents in the flats. These children turned out to have very high passion for the arts," said Denny Malik, coreogafer who was appointed became jury of dance contest JRF 2016 in Jakarta, recently.
He admitted, a little difficulty in determining the winner in the category of dance competition because a lot of good talent that appears in this event.

Finally, after going tough votes, jury decided Zidane Mahadi from Flamboyan flats as Best Male Dancer, Khalia Renald Budiniarti from Kapuk Muara flats as a Best Female Dancer.
Meanwhile, in the category of dance, a team combined Flamboyan and Tambora flats get 1st place, team 8 Cipinang Besar Utara flats as second champion, team of two of combined Daan, Kapuk Muara and Waduk Pluit flats as third champion, and a team of combined Tipar Cakung, Cakung Barat and Sukapura flats as fourth champion.

Whereas, in the category of art drawing, Nada Citra from Cipinang Muara flats as a first champion, Risma Aulia from Marunda flats as second champion and Detia Putri from Cipinang Muara flats as third champion.
The winners of the drawing competition win scholarship to study painting with watercolors media at Agus Budiyanto Aquarelle Studio. Meanwhile, the winners of the dance got travel packages to Yogyakarta.
Mayor of South Jakarta, Tri Kurniadi present upon delivery of the winners said, with this race, children apartment dwellers remain proud despite staying there. He cited Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London, England, is also the former flats residents.
"I am confident, will be born of seeds in various fields. And, the main purpose of this event is provide equal opportunities for the community. There is no separation between the people of Jakarta," he said.
On this occasion, Chief Executive of JRF in 2016, David Wiranata hope this event can simultaneously straighten stigma that flats citizens are not being wasted, or set aside. But they also Jakarta residents who have rights and obligations as other citizens.
"Of course, all of this we do not merely as a race event, but one that residents of towers in the future can be a decent and comfortable life without conflict, as well as away from the problems of social inequality," he said.
