JAKARTA - The practice of blood selling on donor results which still exist in society, is deemed not an official policy of the relevant parties. The presumption that the blood from donors must be 'purchased' should be immediately corrected.
"If there is, it is only the excesses of course. But sure, hospital and PMI did not do that," said Chairman of the Indonesian Association of Blood Donors (PDDI), Adang Daradjatun in Rakornas PDDI in Jakarta, recently.
He explained, that during PDDI as a collector organization partnered with PMI and encourage people to donate blood become lifestyle.
With a target of 5.2 million bags/year or two percent of the population, with 212 units of blood transfusion in 33 provinces in order to supply sufficient blood for up to 4 days.
"Given the blood can not be made, so that the donor was needed, and they must be organized to maintain stable blood production. PDDI duty to invite the community as volunteer blood donors," said Adang again.
In this Rakornas, PDDI also expect the participation of the government in PDDI activities in all regions of Indonesia.
"We expect support from the Ministry and related institutions to engage PPDI in any activities related blood donors," he said.
