JAKARTA - New facts revealed in the trial of alleged bribery dangdut singer, Jamil Saipul to lighten his sentence verdict in North Jakarta District Court (PN).
Revealed, there're involvement of a high court judge in West Java, Karel Tupu and judge Saipul case, Ifa Sudewi in this case. Karel Tupu, referred to as one of the originators of the start of efforts to bribe the judge this case, Ifa Sudewi.
In the indictment against Saipul Jamil brother, Samsul Hidayatullah, head of Saipul Jamil lawyers team, Kasman Sangaji and members of his legal counsel Berthanatalia Ruruk Kariman who read by Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) prosecutor, Karel Tupu which also was the husband of the accused, Berthanatalia suggest Berthanatalia meet Ifa directly when taking care of Saipul case.
According to prosecutors, on May 10, 2016 around 06.00 pm Berthanatalia received a call from Karel Tupu who asked about the court case Saipul Jamil.
"Then he tell Berthanatalia meet Ifa Sudewi early in the morning, then Karel suggest that meet Ifa directly without going through the intermediary of others," said KPK prosecutor, Dzakiyul Fikri at the Corruption Court, Jakarta, Wednesday (31/8).
In the indictment, prosecutors also revealed Ifa meeting with Berthanatalia both before and after the Saipul case was decided.
Ifa and Berthanatalia took first meeting on June 13, 2016 in North Jakarta District Court office and got some directives related cases Saipul.
"Exception team of legal advisors considered to be the principal issue of the case, the case Saipul weight as the victim child and monitored by KPAI. Legal counsel team advised should prove Dede Sulton not children so Ifa can help by using Article 292 Criminal Code and ruled on light-light in final decision," said prosecutor.
Furthermore, on June 8, 2016, Berthanatalia met with Ifa in North Jakarta District Court. In the meeting, there was a demand for money Rp500 million for one year criminal verdict.
After numerous meetings and discussions, it was agreed that the bribes were given to Ifa Rp 250 million. The money comes from accounts of Saipul Jamil private money in BNI Syariah Branch North Jakarta which taken by Samsul to be given to Ifa.
In this case, Berthanatalia use bribes intermediaries, North Jakarta District Court clerks, Rohadi. After the handover of money, Berthanatalia and Rohadi arrested by the KPK.
Until now, both Karel and Ifa has not become a suspect in a Saipul Jamil bribery case.
