See Police Dramatic Moment with Child Suicide Bomber

KIRKUK - Chilling images showing the moment a distressed young boy has a suspected suicide belt cut from his body have been released. The pictures depict Iraqi security officials as they grapple with the young boy, who is visibly emotional as he attempts to pull away.

The emotive photos were taken in Kirkuk, Iraq, on Sunday evening as five men detained the boy in the middle of an empty street.

After a brief struggle, officials were able to remove the suicide vest, and the boy was taken into custody. The young boy’s arrest follows two separate suicide bomb attacks in the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk today.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan blamed the murders on ISIS following the attack, which took place in Gaziantep on Saturday. He claimed the killer, who wore an explosive belt to carry out the attack, was aged between 12 and 14.

The attack is the deadliest bombing in Turkey so far this year. Fifty-one people lost their lives and 90 were injured.
The wounded are still being treated in nearby hospitals.

"The celebrations were coming to an end and there was a big explosion among people dancing. There was blood and body parts everywhere," one of witness Veli Can said.

Turkey has been hit by a series of bombs planted by both ISIS and Kurdish militants over the course of the past year. The last attack by ISIS, on Istanbul airport in June, left more than 40 dead.
