JAKARTA - Death row case of drugs from Pakistan, Zulfiqar Ali was canceled executed at third round death execution at Nusakambangan, Cilacap, Central Java. He cancelled execute basic from comprehensive study.
"Through a comprehensive study (reason not execution of Zulfiqar Ali, ed.)," Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes, Rochmad Noor said on Friday (29/7) morning.
He said, for the time being, four former death row inmate to be executed, namely Freddy Budiman (citizen), Osmani Seck (Senegal), Humphrey Eijeke (Nigeria), and Michael Titus (Nigeria).
Nevertheless, he did not mention in detail the reasons for the comprehensive study.
Pakistan's Ambassador to Indonesia, Muhammad Aqil Nadeem, said it still asked the Indonesian government to delay the executions were one of their own citizens and investigate the case.
"We have filed a petition to the President on pending death sentences on behalf of the citizens of Pakistan, Zulfiqar Ali, and until now has not received a response," said Nadeem in Jakarta, Wednesday (27/7).
Embassy of Pakistan has received written notification from the Government of Indonesia relating to executions Zulfiqar Ali, who is rumored to be executed on Friday and have contacted all relevant authorities in Indonesia to emphasize that the punishment against him unfair.
Former director general of human rights in the Ministry of Law, Hafid Abbas, said an investigation he had conducted more than a decade ago was never acted upon by former president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
"The report found Zulfiqar Ali was a victim of conspiracy and was innocent," Dr Hafid told Fairfax Media.
According to him, the Government of Indonesia especially relevant parties need to review the case because key witnesses withdrew statements in the dossier (BAP).
Zulfiqar Ali (52), accused of possessing 350 grams of heroin and had been arrested since 2005. The key witness of the case, namely Gurdiph Sigh, has revoked its report in the BAP and mentioned that heroin did not belong Zulfiqar.
