JAKARTA - Joko Widodo (Jokowi) cabinet scheduled to be announced Wednesday (27/7). President Jokowi is slated to replace Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Affairs Minister Luhut Pandjaitan, Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro and Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Sudirman Said.
The source who closed with the three ministers, who demanded anonymity, confirmed the replacements on Wednesday.
The sources said, Luhut will serve as coordinating maritime minister, replacing Rizal Ramli while Bambang will take on the top job at the national development planning ministry (Bappenas), which will be granted new authority to allocate and supervise the channeling of the state budget.
Minister Sudirman, meanwhile, will no longer be in the cabinet after a string of tussles last year with Luhut, Rizal, and then Golkar Party senior politician Setya Novanto, now Golkar chairman, the sources said.
Speculation is rife that either Coordinating Economic Minister Darmin Nasution or World Bank managing director Sri Mulyani, who served as finance minister during the administration of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, will serve as finance minister.
Recently, in the middle of the hardness of this reshuffle, two Jokowi ministers, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Sudirman Said and the Coordinating Maritime Minister Rizal Ramli tweet on his personal Twitter account.
In his Twitter account, the former boss PINDAD admitted grateful that the great task entrusted has been completed. It is unclear what is meant by it, but some news mentions Sudirman Said was frozen out of the cabinet.
