JAKARTA - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) task force team conduct sting operations (OTT) against one of the clerks in North Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (15/6).
From the information gathered, task force team grabbed North Jakarta District Court clerk's initials R. He is suspected of accepting bribes related to cases of alleged sexual abuse committed dangdut artist, Saipul Jamil.
Based on information collected, R arrested after receiving the money amounting to Rp350 million.
"Two people (arrested) consists of the giver (bribe) lawyer and clerks," said Deputy Chairman of the Commission, Saut Situmorang via text message on Wednesday (15/6).
"The case Saipul (Jamil)," he explained.
As is known, Saipul Jamil sentenced to three years prison by North Jakarta District Court, Tuesday, June 14, 2016 yesterday. The verdict is much lighter than the demands of the prosecutor, which is seven years in prison and a fine of Rp 100 million.
This verdict could be a public inquiry. Because judge not use of article 82 of Law on Child Protection (PA) with a minimum sentence of five years and maximum 15 years ruled. Precisely that is used is Article 292 Criminal Code which there is no minimum penalty.
Shortly, after verdict of Saipul Jamil, Osner Sianipar, DS attorney, victims of Saipul Jamil sexual abuse said he was surprised by the decision of the judges.
"We hear the judge's decision, SJ convicted sexual abuse against minors, but why judges not using article 82 of Law PA and instead use article 292 Criminal Code. It's ironic," said Osner.
Meanwhile, Kasman Sangaji, attorney Saipul, revealed to the news never answer phone calls and text messages to confirm the alleged bribery in the case of Jamil Saipul.
