JAKARTA - Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) still would not use party lines to run for governor of Jakarta, 2017. He admitted to not want to disappoint volunteer supporters.
"If you want to follow, supporting 'Teman Ahok'," said Ahok at Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday (24/5).
Ahok continue, volunteers want to try a new campaign that he has not been tried in this country, paid campaigns as did Barack Obama when he joined the United States (US) presidential election a few years ago.
The concept is meant is to implement the admission campaign arena. Ticket sales will be used for the campaign.
"People coming campaign, buy a ticket. Or donate dinner with me, for example, one people donates to Rp 50 million. Or who wants to donate can later goes around Jakarta at me," said Basuki.
He continues, if you want to run on party lines, he can be directly admitted to the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) because it already has the support of Megawati as party chairman.
"I have always been able to ticket anyway. Bu Mega definitely love, the origin of the survey people want to support me," said Ahok.
He realized the importance of the support of the party in local elections, but admitted to not want to disappoint the young people who volunteered to work for him.
"You would not disappoint young people who already work in a militant?" Ahok said.
