Two Indonesia Ambulances for Egyptian Red Crescent

CAIRO - Indonesian Ambassador to Egypt, H.E. Helmy Fauzy handed over two unit of ambulances to the Egyptian Red Crescent Society on Thursday (12/5). The ambulances are the gifts from the Indonesian people through the National Humanitarian Foundation PKPU (Pos Keadilan Peduli Umat) and the Indonesian Red Crescent (BSMI).
In his remarks, Ambassador Helmy Fauzy said that Egypt and Indonesia has built propinquity even before Indonesia gained its independence. He also mentioned that Egypt was the first country to recognize the independence of Indonesia.
"The gift is a symbol of love and friendship of the Indonesian people to the people of Egypt," said Ambassador Helmy.
He also emphasized that the people of Indonesia will assist everyone which needed assistance.
Professor Moamena Kamel, the Secretary General of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society received the ambulances on behalf of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society.
In her response, Moamena Kamel said appreciated the continuity of the assistance of the Indonesian people to Egypt.
"I wished that the good relations between the two countries will continue in the future, through the exchange of experiences in the disaster rapid response and mitigation," said Moamena.
She also wished that cooperation between the Egyptian Red Crescent Society and its Indonesian counterparts in the form of workshop or seminar.
Both ambulances will be utilized for the health and humanitarian mission in the branch of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society in the Gharbeya and Beheira governorates.
Ayman Al Said, Head of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society in Gharbeya said that the ambulance from the people of Indonesia will have huge impact in increasing the healthcare service sector, particularly in the Egyptian Red Crescent Society hospital in Gharbeya. Talaat Fadali, the head of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society in Beheira also voiced similar statement.
The hand over also witnessed by the representative of the Indonesian Red Crescent Society, Robi Sugara and the representative of PKPU, Ahsan Nur Ahmad.
