JAKARTA - Minister for Trade and Investment Andrew Robb will lead Australia's largest ever trade and investment business mission to Indonesia this week, aimed at highlighting Australian capability in major industry sectors.

Over 360 senior business people will accompany Robb during Indonesia—Australia Business Week 2015 (IABW, 17-20 November), representing various industries including infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, agriculture and food sustainability, premium food and beverage, health and aged care, resources and energy, education and tourism.

Robb said IABW aims to promote Australia as a trade, investment, education and tourism destination through high-level political and commercial exchange, according to the Australian Embassy here on its official website on Monday (16/11/2015).

"Australia's bilateral relationship with Indonesia is among our most important; we're very complementary in the skills and strengths we've both got, so there's great potential to grow our economic partnership," Robb said.

Robb said there were currently less than 250 Australian businesses with a presence in Indonesia and he is hoping to see a dramatic increase in these numbers.

"Two-way trade in goods and services is just $A16 billion; that is far smaller than some of our other trading partnerships in the region," he Robb said.

"We are putting a lot of work into encouraging more Australian businesses to establish a presence in Indonesia, which will help build linkages, mutual interests and trust between our countries," he said.

He said that Indonesia—Australia Business Week is an opportunity to build the relationships needed to sustain and grow our business links, and to explore ways to tap into the rapidly growing market of more than 250 million people right on our doorstep, which includes a rising middle class.

Robb will tomorrow deliver the keynote address to the Indonesia—Australia Business Council Conference in Yogyakarta, and will host various investment round-tables throughout the week.

Robb will be joined by Minister for Tourism and International Education, Richard Colbeck; Minister for Health, Aged Care and Sport, Sussan Ley; and Minister for Immigration and Border Protection, Peter Dutton, along with various state government ministers.
