JAKARTA - The month of November is a special time for smiling and sharing happiness around the world, especially on November 11, also known as Pocky Day. Japan’s leading snack producer, Glico, with its popular Pocky biscuit stick, is committed to share happiness with as many people as possible by celebrating Pocky Day throughout the world.
And in Indonesia, Pocky Day celebration is going to be a special one. Glico, along with Chelsea Islan, is celebrating the day with the launch of the application Smile Shuffle and sharing happiness in several cities in the Pocky Road Trip Tour, set to be launched on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Jakarta.
Pocky is an authentic premium chocolate biscuit snack from Japan. The snack has been around for more than 50 years, and is popular in many countries. And, reflecting on Pocky’s unique shape which looks like the number ‘1’, Glico applied to Japan Anniversary Association to designate November 11 as Pocky Day.
The first Pocky Day was celebrated in Japan in 1999 and it has since become a moment which symbolizes sharing of happiness with others. Each year in Japan, in the celebration of Pocky Day, Glico holds various exciting activities, from launching Pocky Rocket, “World Challenge 11.11” Photo Contest, Share Happy Dance Competition, Smile Counter, and tons of others.
“Pocky Day is the day for everybody in the world to smile and feel happy. People in Indonesia are known to respect one another. Pocky is committed to bringing happiness to the people in Indonesia. We want to make everyone smile because when we smile, we incite other to smile also, and, eventually, this smile will become infectious and everyone in Indonesia will smile with us,” said Kei Tasaki, Sales & Marketing Director of Glico Indonesia.

"When you shake your smartphone, the app will shuffle the pictures of yourself and your family and friends, creating a great blend of those photos. Also, Pocky will launch a special promo and display at stores around the country,” Kartika Tirta Putri, Marketing Manager of Pocky Indonesia said.
Chelsea also invite her friends and fans to share happiness by playing Smile Shuffle, and visit Pocky Road Trip Tour van. There will be many games, activities, and cool prizes for all of you.
