President Jokowi Youngest Son Proposed to Make G30S/PKI Film in Millenial Version

JAKARTA - The wish of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to renew 'Pengkhianatan G30S/PKI' in order to be watched by the millennial generation received response from Vice Chairman of the House of Representatives (DPR), Fahri Hamzah.

Fahri proposed that the millennial version of the G30S/PKI film make by the youngest son of President Jokowi, Kaesang Pangarep. Fahri admitted that he did not question President Jokowi's proposal that G30S/PKI film be updated so that millenial generation could understand the message.

"Mr. Jokowi has a lot of filmmaking team," said Fahri at the Parliament Building, Jakarta, Tuesday (19/9).

According to him, the millenial version of the G30S/PKI will be a debate if the story changes from the old version.

"There will be a debate, which is the right one. Come good, make another version of the movie, do not be forbidden.I also remember it is a movie and that I think is important. Please do not feel that the victim was PKI, the victims of the PKI period should not so, it's the same victim, just argue," he said.

He added that today is so free. He said the story of the struggle of national hero, Walidah Dahlan alias Nyai Ahmad Dahlan and ulema KH Hasyim Asy'ari ever made a film.
