JAKARTA - Two Indonesian hostages released in Philippines. Indonesian Foreign Minister, Retno Marsudi justified, both are free on Thursday (7/9) morning local time.

"On 7 September morning at around 06.30, two Indonesian hostages, Saparudin bin Koni and Sawal bin Maryam. Were both at the headquarters of the joint forces in Sulu for medical examination," Retno said.

"This is a permanent procedure undertaken at the time of the release of a hostage, or free hostage. So the first thing to do is a medical examination," she continued.

She said the two hostages would be taken to the Philippine army command center by tomorrow, before being picked up by the Indonesian Consulate General (KJRI) in Davao to be returned home.

"According to the plan, tomorrow the two Indonesian citizens will be taken to AFP Western Command in Zamboanga. KJRI Davao will meet with the two hostages in Zamboanga and then will be repatriated to Indonesia," she said.

Retno explained, these two Indonesian citizens are the crew of a Malaysian fishing boat abducted by the Abu Sayyaf group on 19 November 2016 in the territory of Batu 70, Lahad Datu, Sabah, Malaysia.

As is known, both of these citizen hostages are free after being rescued by Philippine troops. The tribe is free in operations by Philippine troops on an island in the south of the country.
