JAKARTA - There are still many areas in Indonesia are categorized as disaster prone areas. This make reason for the International Humanitarian Agency of Hasene Germany to re-synergize with Indonesian Zakat Institute (IZI) in the effort to overcome natural and social disasters in Indonesia.

"The reason behind this is because Indonesia is a country that often suffers natural disasters," said Leader of Hasene Team for Indonesia, Fatih Yildrim in Jakarta, Monday (3/9).

The information, Yildrim said, based on United Nations data for the International Strategy on Disaster Risk Reduction (UN-ISDR) in 2011 on Indonesia's high position is calculated from the number of people at risk of loss of life if natural disasters occur.

Fatih added that in the effort to maximize the humanitarian mission, in the future Hasene will synergize with IZI to help various disaster prone areas in Indonesia through food supply, health and education aid.

"Obviously to maximize humanitarian mission, we need a professional legal institution in Indonesia (IZI) that focuses on helping and empowering the community to assist us in delivering assistance to various disaster prone areas in Indonesia, and the form of assistance to be distributed is food, health and education," Fatih added.

Previously, in 2016 Hasene with IZI has established cooperation in the distribution of Qurban animal for various corners in Indonesia.

And this year Hasene and IZI returned 150 cattle to various regions in three provinces in Indonesia including Dompu (West Nusa Tenggara), Isimu and Paris (Gorontalo) and Takalar and Gowa (South Sulawesi).

Director of IZI, Wildhan Dewayana stated the reason why choose some areas in the three provinces is because there are still many districts that are classified as food insecurity.

"The causes of food insecurity are poverty, access to electricity that affects the economy, the growth rate of children, road access for two-wheeled vehicles and access to clean water, which makes the reason why IZI and Hasene help channel the Qurban animals at there," Wildhan said.

From the total of 150 cattle that have been distributed on Friday and Saturday (2-3/9) to some areas, 70 for South Sulawesi province, 60 for Gorontalo and 30 for West Nusa Tenggara.

Wildhan added, to facilitate the distribution, along with Hasene has formed a team to disseminate Cattle Qurban for the three provinces.

"In an effort to maximize the distribution of Cattle Qurban, we deliberately form a team with Hasene to locations of food insecurity and dhuafa," he said.
