Not Just Socialized, Zakat Also Need to be Exemplified

JAKARTA - Campaigns to pay zakat through the National Amil Zakat Board (Baznas) continue to be exemplified by state officials.
As did Chairman of People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), Zulkifli Hasan who submit his property zakat through Baznas at one mall in South Jakarta, Monday (29/5).
Zulkifli went to the Zakat Tabernacle in that mall to hand over his zakat to the Chairman of Baznas, Bambang Sudibyo.
Zulkifli conveyed that according to God's promise, by sharing, the property is not reduced but actually increases.
"Sharing will not reduce but added treasures. So, hopefully by paying zakat we have more blessings," said Zulkifli after surrendering his property zakat.
Chairman of Baznas, Bambang Sudibyo said, what Zulkifli do should be appreciated for giving exemplary to muslims in Indonesia. With zakat through Baznas, Zulkifli exemplifies the importance of purifying possessions through official zakat management.
"Zakat is a priority agenda that is not only important for ourselves but also beneficial to other people in need," said Bambang.
Bambang hopes that more and more state officials will pay their zakat through Baznas in Ramadhan this year. The plan, Baznas will open service of zakat payment at the State Palace with President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla.
Previously, in the effort of socialization, Baznas also tried to encourage the preacher of Friday prayers to lecture about zakat by publishing thematic preach book about zakat.
"Zakat as one of the pillars of Islam which still marginalized," said Chairman of Baznas, Bambang Sudibyo in Jakarta, Friday (26/5).

This book is expected to enrich the literature of the dai and the preacher, so that it can preach zakat properly. This book is also important to propagate zakat as the pillars of Islam which has a strategic role in the economic development of the people. And invite people to zakat through the official zakat institutions that have been endorsed by the government.
"Zakat requires ijtihad or thought constantly to keep up with the times. Both in the aspects of management, the object of zakat, and in the mechanism of distribution," said Director of Coordination of Distribution, Utility, Renbang and National Training Baznas, Nasir Tajang.
On that basis, it is very important and even obligatory for Baznas to prepare literature references. Both to the da'i, zakat activists, as well as to the Islamic community in general, related to the development of zakat management.
"We see that the existing preach books have been minimal in discuss the issue of zakat. Still limited to studies of classical jurisprudence," he explained.
