PURWAKARTA - Arrest of suspect terrorists which hiding in floating house or floating net (KJA) Jatiluhur, Purwakarta give rise some speculation. Is there a possibility of terrorists detonate Jatiluhur dam?
"If this dam blown up, so what happened? So, soon we disable it," said Police Chief of West Java, Inspector General Anton Charliyan at the scene on Sunday (25/12).
Anton was compared with number of terrorist victims in the World Trade Center (WTC), New York, United States (US). According to him, if Jatiluhur blown up, the number of victims could be more than victims at the WTC.
"It (can) greater than WTC. Purwakarta, Bandung, Karawang to Jakarta people could be a victim," he said.
Related to the unexpected shot, Anton admitted that it had to be done because of suspected terrorist attacked the police.
"That (suspected terrorist) did not attack survive. For the attacker, what can we do about it. Because, we didn't know they were carrying explosives or not," he said.
As known, two suspected terrorists were arrested and two others who resisted the arrest were shot dead by Polices Antiterror squad (Densus 88) in Purwakarta, West Java, on Sunday (25/12).
"At around 9 am, police arrested two suspected terrorists, Ivan and Rijal in Jalan Ubrug in Cibinong, Jatiluhur subdistrict, Purwakarta District," said Chief of Public Information Bureau of the National Police, Brig General Rikwanto on Sunday (25/12).
According him, after arresting the two, Densus 88 personnel then hunted two others who are friends of Ivan and Rijal in the Jatiluhur region.
At around 12 p.m, the team raided a floating house in the Jatiluhur Lake. When they wanted to catch them, the two suspected terrorists resisted the arrest. The two are Abu Sofi and Abu Fais.
"There is resistance from both of them, after a gun battle, both of them died," said this senior officer.
Rikwanto said, the four men had planned to carry out their attack using machetes and knives because they regarded the police as their enemy for foiling several of their attack plans.
"They consider police as ‘thogut’ (people who disobey God's rules)," Rikwanto said.
