JAKARTA - For those who lost of getting a ticket for Coldplay’s upcoming Asian tour, maybe should consider watching the performance of their tribute band, Coldplace. Before you reject this idea, do note that these guys are not just another tribute act.

Claimed to be the world’s leading tribute to Coldplay, Coldplace has performed in more than 400 gigs across the UK and abroad, including in Russia and the Netherlands. It has played along with Sir Bob Geldof, KT Tunstall, Ringo Starr and Roxette.

The band has also appeared on Sky News, BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2 and The Gadget Show and asked to play an after-show event for Coldplay in Portugal.

Formed by Coldplay fans, for Coldplay fans in Grimsby, UK, in October 2003, Coldplace takes its live tribute show very, very seriously and always energetic.

“We spend literally days studying the Coldplay live shows so we can accurately reproduce the Coldplay show,” said the band’s frontman, Shane Crofts as reported Daily Record.

Shane is often seen playing his piano during 'Fix You', 'The Scientist' and 'Paradise'. His piano even appears to be similar to that of Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin.

Shane himself met Chris Martin twice, first time was when he was taking care of the band’s visa in London and the second time at a bar in Newcastle.

“I wasn’t going to tell him I was in a tribute band, but he was really cool with it. He told me not to be embarrassed and posed for a photo with me,” said Shane.

Are you interested already? The band that consists of Shane Crofts, Dean Stewart, Asa Crofts and Wayne Birch is slated to perform in Indonesia on Thursday, Dec. 15 at Colosseum, West Jakarta, with presale tickets starting at Rp 200,000.
