LONDON - Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte could be the next English Premier League (EPL) manager to leave. This prediction following a series of bets this afternoon which have seen the Italian’s sack race odds plummet.

Arriving in the summer, Conte was a long outsider at 20/1, but the former Italy boss is now favourite to depart next at just 5/2.

The ex-Juventus boss got off to a fine start with the west London outfit, winning his first three games in charge, but things have taken a sour twist in recent months.

A draw with Swansea was followed by defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal, and a series of defensive lapses has left Conte desperately searching for reinforcements.

Despite being linked with a number of top-line defenders, David Luiz was the only significant arrival in the summer. Leonardo Bonucci and Kalidou Koulibaly were just two of the big-names Conte failed to land.

Speculation has refused to die down that it wasn’t Conte’s idea to bring Brazilian international Luiz back to Stamford Bridge, and it wouldn’t be the first time a Chelsea boss has fallen out with the club over transfer targets.

“The gamble started on Thursday lunchtime and by mid-afternoon Conte’s price had collapsed. Punters are hoping there’s no smoke without fire and we’ve racked up liabilities in next to no time,” David Williams of Ladbrokes said

The Blues have kept just two clean sheets in seven Premier League games this season.

Having begun the campaign third in the betting for the year’s title, Chelsea are now ranked fifth by the bookies, with their odds drifting out from 9/2 to 14/1.

Chelsea return to domestic action this weekend by welcoming reigning champions Leicester City to the Premier League.

The Blues are 4/7 favourites for three points, as Conte goes toe-to-toe with Claudio Ranieri – a man who knows full well what it’s like to fall out of favour with Abramovich.

Ladbrokes odds:
Next Premier League manager to leave:
Antonio Conte - 5/2
Slaven Bilic - 11/4
David Moyes - 4/1
Tony Pulis - 6/1
Mark Hughes - 7/1
Sean Dyche - 10/1
Alan Pardew - 16/1
