'Mother' for a Million Children, Risma Awarded Ideal Mother

CAIRO - Since took office as Surabaya mayor, Tri Rismaharini had become a mother to more than one million children.

For this dedication, the woman who was familiarly called Risma awarded the Ideal Mother Award 2016 in the Grand Hall University of Cairo on Monday (21/3) by the Islamic Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO).

Thousands of spectators packed the auditorium which was once used as a place of US President Barack Obama delivered a speech addressed to the Arab world and the Middle East in 2009 the. Risma is one of two award-winning Ideal Mother who was asked to deliver a speech at the occasion.

In his speech, Risma delivered the efforts to protect children from crimes such as human trafficking with the brothel closures that make children as victims; provision of facilities as well as training for street children and abandoned children; and coaching and facilities for children with special needs (disabilities).

Risma stressed that since sworn in as mayor of Surabaya she has become a mother for more than a million children.

Risma speech got quite thunderous response from the audience. After the event, Ambassador Ayman Abdallah al Bayaa, Ambassador of Goodwill IIMSA - The United Nations and the Director Alwasl International Group, United Arab Emirates came to Risma and offer assistance for development programs for special children in Surabaya.

On the same day, before the receipt of the award Ideal Mother, Risma also attended the meeting face and the relationship with the Indonesian School in Cairo (SIC). On that occasion, Risma provide motivation for students and SIC teachers.

"Mrs Risma stressed that cause she believed no child smart and dumb children, of which there are all the children are given the ability and capital to succeed, such as children's disability in Surabaya, which she said is very creative and can make money with their own hands," said Function Coordinator Pensosbud Indonesian Embassy in Cairo, Lauti Nia Sutedja to Sindonews.

Even according to him, among the children of the diasabiltas there who have savings of up to 70 million out of work. On the occasion Risma states that 60 percent of the time and thought and activity is concerning children.
