NEW HAMPSHIRE - For the first time, Faithful Pledge readings inauguration, appointment and taking the oath of Mayor Somersworth, New Hampshire, Dana S Hilliard conducted in Indonesian. This event was held at room City Hall Somersworth, New York.

In addition to the ranks of Somersworth city officials, attended the evening, the Governor of the State of New Hampshire, Margaret Hassan as well as New Hampshire State Senator, David H. Waters, thus Counselor Consulate General in New York Benny YP Siahaan who participated in attendance that night as special invited guests Mayor Hilliard known close to the Indonesian community in Somersworth.

Consul Benny YP Siahaan said the Indonesian Consulate General in New York is the only representative of a foreign country who attended the event.

"So close relationship with Indonesia, the Mayor to request that a faithful reading of the pledge (pledge of allegiance) is also in Indonesian, in addition to English and French (mostly citizens of Somersworth French descent)," he said.

In the last three years of cooperation between the city government Somersworth, New York consulate, community Indonesia very closely in promoting and introducing Indonesia in the town of Somersworth, such as the introduction of Indonesian art and culture through the art show organized community of Indonesia in cooperation with the Consulate General in New York and supported by the City Government Somersworth.

This inauguration is the second period for the Mayor Hilliard previously successful lead Somersworth city that elected him for a second time, known as the personal outgoing, open and supportive of tolerance and cultural diversity in the city of Somersworth.

In his speech, Governor Margaret Hassan conveyed congratulations on the return Hilliard was elected as mayor of Somersworth which is evidence of the success of his leadership in the previous period and congratulations to the members of the City Council and Board of Education are elected for the period 2016 to 2020.

Governor thanked the members of the Board who has completed his tenure in the previous period and welcomed the members of the City Council and Board of Education are new and ask them to cooperate with the mayor of the city work together to advance the Somersworth.

Hilliard in his speech expressed gratitude to the citizens Somersworth for the trust given to lead back Somersworth and expect support and cooperation of all parties in order to carry out its mission and programs to promote the city of Somersworth become a better city in various fields and is open to all. He said that unity, cooperation, and tolerance is the key to advancing Somersworth city that welcomed with boisterous applause of the audience.

After the event, the Mayor of Somersworth Dana Hilliard take the time to the consul Pensosbud and Indonesian diaspora in attendance to talk and take pictures with. On that occasion, the Consul gave batik shirt as a souvenir in the form of congratulations on the inauguration as he expressed thanks and appreciation to the Mayor for the attention and support to the people of Indonesia in Somersworth town of about 500 people.

Hilliard say thanks for souvenirs and cooperation given Indonesian community and the support of the Consulate General of New York during this time and promised to wear batik given to community celebrations over the election of the mayor (folk festival) to be held in February 2016.
